What is GPT?
GUID partition table (GPT) is a disk partition framework for extend EFI based on the Itanium Computer. Compared with MBR, GPT has more advantages, allowing each disk has partitions up to 128 and allowing the primary disk partition table and the backup disk partition table for redundancy and supporting volumes up to 18 gigabit and the unique disk and partition ID(GUID).

Compared with MBR which supports 2TB(terabytes) and every disk of it has 4 primary partitions at most. (or 3 primary partitions, 1 extended partition and unlimited logic drive ), GUID partition disk table can support 18EB (exabytes) and every disk has 128 partitions at most. Unlike MBR, critical operational data for GPT is in the partitions rather than in the non-partitions or hidden sectors. In addition, GPT disk provides extra partition to improve the integrity of the data partition.

Partition Magic can neither support GPT disk partition nor Windows server.
